Okay, so you've waited until the last minute. Or you've tried really hard but have drawn a blank and can't seem to think of any good anniversary gifts.

So you've decided to go with a clothing gift. You're thinking that you'll buy a sweater, or maybe some boxers, or lingerie. Bad gift idea. Very bad. So bad it's horrible.

One of, if not THE, most hated gift to receive for both men and women (not to mention children on birthdays and Christmas Day) is clothing. I've seen this opinion consistently online. People would rather go out and choose their clothing for themselves.

The only way this could really work as a gift is if you surprise them with an offer to buy them whatever article of clothing they want. In other words, you make your offer of buying clothing of their choice the gift, not an actual clothing gift that you've picked out.

That way, your partner could come with you to check it out and make sure they have something:

a) they like, and
b) something in the right size.

When it comes to gifts, especially gifts like clothing, what you may think your lover/spouse likes is not necessarily what they do like. So don't go with this extremely bad gift idea. Don't put yourself in the position of buying a clothing gift only to discover years later that they hated it all along. Ouch!
